Every children's ward has someone each evening who knows the child's name. Play, stories and support for the family are a given, not a stroke of luck -- and parents can finally sleep, knowing their child isn't alone.
2032 · Leyte, the Philippines
The typhoon hits like it always has, but this time the classroom holds. Three days later lessons resume, the food store is full and nine in ten ten-year-olds read fluently -- in a region where most once couldn't.
2035 · Villages of Bali
The village well is locally owned and maintained, the river runs free of plastic, and children play in sand instead of rubbish. Young people who grew up in the village home now lead the programme that once helped them.
